The Kenya judiciary Academy in collaboration with the National Assembly put together a program for select committee clerks on the law of evidence in an effort to have committees that are compliant with Judicial processes with fewer or no intervention from the Courts on processes and if there shall be, then the committee decision is upheld. The backdrop of the one-week training was informed by the fact that the committee acts as a quasi-judicial body in their day-to-day operation hence the need to have an understanding of the judicial process in order to uphold justice and procedural fairness as encapsulated in the Constitution and other statutes.
The participants who are Clerks to the various departmental committees and the Directorate of Legal Services of the National assembly had a chance to engage and learn from the resource persons; The honorable Judges and Teachers of the law.
